MARIA BARNAZ

Maria is an executive assistant at MIC & Associates, a New York-based international consulting firm, where she is involved with event organizing, marketing, business consulting and liaising with foreign affairs individuals and international executives. Among her most notable achievements, she participated in the development and coordination of the XVII Edition of the renowned Festival "Romania Day on Broadway 2016". Currently Maria is the project assistant of "BestInvest IT" Forum and "UNTOLD America", held in New York in November and May 2017, respectively.
Maria developed a curiosity and later a passion for International Business and International Affairs from the very moment she began working for an airline in Qatar in 2007. As a country comprised mainly of expats, with people and businesses from all over the world, Qatar offered many opportunities that enriched Maria's cultural awareness, improved her inter-cultural communication skills and provided an understanding about international trade, transportation, and regional economic growth. It is there that Maria decided to further pursue a career in International Logistics, Business Development, Business Strategy, and International Trade.
Additionally, Maria has extensive experience in Event Management, and she participated in the creation and development of large-scale events and festivals such as "Commercial Bank Qatar Masters Golf Tournament," "Qatar Motor Show (Volkswagen Group)," and "Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise Forum 2014 (NYS MWBE).
Maria Hatherell is also an undergraduate student at the Bernard Baruch College, the City University of New York, where she studies International Business and Finance. She is also the recipient of the World Trade Week New York "District Export Council" Scholarship, which she was awarded in 2016.
