CALIN BOTA

Călin Bota has over 15 years of experience in the management of public finance and in the field of local and national administration. He is an expert with experience in financial coordination, financial audit, tax consulting, forensic and extrajudicial accounting expertise.

Throughout his activity regarding the public administration, he filled many positions, from Local Councilor, County Councilor, to Secretary of State to the Ministry of European Funds and deputy in the Romanian Parliament.

As Secretary of State at the Ministry of European Funds, he coordinated the Competitiveness Operational Program (COP), which supports investments that address the needs and challenges of low levels of economic competitiveness, research, development and innovation (RDI) and Information Technology and Communications (ICT). These horizontal interventions in the economy and society are leading to growth and sustainability. As a result of his thoroughness and impeccable professionalism, Călin Bota played an important role in stimulating partnerships between the public research system and private actors, in market orientation and technology transfer, actions that brought a greater exposure of Romanian research internationally.

As a member of the Romanian Parliament, Călin Bota is involved in numerous legislative initiatives concerning projects financed with European funds.
