Last Wednesday in Washington, we met again with an old friend of Romania, powerful Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ), the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee. With his blessings, we managed to confirm in 2019, the first Romanian-born US ambassador to Bucharest.
The topics of discussion were the war in Ukraine, the 2024 Presidential Elections in the US, and the overall debacle over the US troop withdrawal from Afghanistan. Senator Menendez is up for reelection in 2024 as well.
