Following the Romanian Day Festival on Sunday – May 20, the RABC Board organized a Centennial Gala honoring many of its supporters from the United States and Romania.
On the settings of the East River and in the shadows of the United Nation Headquarters overlooking Queens, the one hundred strong group of leaders and dignitaries joined ranks with people from various industries and organizations from the United States and the world.
The keynote speaker was the Hon. Joe Willison (R-SC) a strong supporter of Romania in the US Compress. He was followed by H.E. Dr. Ion Jinga, the Romanian ambassador to the United Nations, by Jonathan Burkan, Sr. VP at Morgan Stanley and by Tiberius Vadan, the RABC candidate for the ambassadorship position in Romania. The evening event was moderated by the RABC president, Stefan Minovici.
Among the special quests were, H.E. Dr. Amrith Rohan Perera, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the UN, Federal Magistrate Robert M. Levy from Brooklyn Federal Court, Obi Murray, political Commentator and republican strategist, Dr. Alexander Hellinger, Managing Director of Lenox Hill Greenwich Village, Ankura senior executives Randall H. Cook, Amin Salam, George Naghiu, Managing Director of RABC Romania-Cluj, Mrs. Dana Bucin, Honorary Consul of Romania to Connecticut, Mr. Viorel Panait – Managing Director of Convex Romania, Mr. Daniel Grigoriu Norocel, Managing Director of Romtehnica and Mr. & Mrs. Ranju Batra.
