On Monday, June 17, the RABC leadership organized a luncheon in honor of House Representative Dan Lipinski (D-IL) the co-chair of the Romanian Caucus in the US Congress. The meeting was in support of the reelection campaign of Mr. Lipinski, in a Chicago district that also includes Romanian constituents. The event was joined by H.E. Ion Jinga, the Romanian representative to the United Nations and by soon-to-be confirmed Ambassador Nominee to Bucharest, Adrian Zuckerman. During the two-hour long meeting the group discussed issues related to the US current political situation, the 2020 election campaign and other related topics to improve the economy of Romania, the healthcare system and the increasing investment and trade between the two countries. Congressman Lipinski pledged his continuous support to Romania’s needs and emphasized the importance of strengthening the relationship between our two nations. Mr. Zuckerman pointed out the need for greater US investments and business development in Romania and recommended a milestone plan to be followed by the US in order to further solidify the relationship between the two countries. The plan also aims to improve the standard of living in Romania through its continued fight against corruption and bureaucracy. Ambassador Jinga remained fully committed to supporting all these efforts which mirror the strategy and the vision of Romanian head of state.
