PROCLAMATION
Whereas, New York has always been a center of industry and innovation powered by generations of immigrants from every corner of the map. They have enhanced our global city bringing with them their distinctive customs and linguistic traditions which combined to create our renowned ethnic mosaic the source of our singularity and strength. I am therefore enormously proud to lead a metropolis which a thriving population of more than 55,000 Romanian Americans manual form have crossed the Atlantic Ocean to start a new in the land of freedom and possibility your contribution to the fabric of our civic cultural and financial life are indispensable in that spirit I am pleased to recognize the Romanian American Business Council (RABC) on the occasion of the Romanian American flag raising ceremony at the Bowling Green Plaza in lower Manhattan.
Whereas is RABC – established to showcase Romania’s achievements and values while fostering integration within American Society works to strengthen the already robust relationship that this country crafted in the Nexus of Central Eastern and Southeastern Europe has long shared with the United States bordering Bulgaria, Hungary, Moldova, Serbia and Ukraine, Romania distinguishes itself for its unmatched natural beauty. In addition to its Transylvania region brand castle, famed for association with calm Dracula Romania also claimed the Danube delta where a vast section of Europe’s second largest rivers empties into the Black Sea and the Eastern and Southern Carpathian Mountains, most beloved national treasures. The council leveraged its members expertise in fields such as defense, healthcare, information technology, infrastructure and law and offers across to advocacy tools decision makers and tailored guidance enabling business leaders’ entrepreneurs to achieve their goals.
Whereas my administration is committed to amplify the voices of Romanian New Yorkers and ensuring not only their rights, but also their transformative dreams. Today’s flag raising events provides an external opportunity to recognize the positive difference that the Romanian diaspora made in the five boroughs and across the United States. I look forward to the many ways our vital Romanian American community will continue to fortify our international city as we unite to build a brighter, safer, and more prosperous future for all period
