Following a successful BestInvest Forum in New York, RABC has embarked on a long-term project to bring the first US Hospital to Easter Europe and Romania. The first round of meetings and engagement protocols took place between January 9 and 13 in Cluj and Bucharest and they were focused on affiliation with Mount Sinai International and Mount Sinai Medical School and Romanian academic institutions and hospitals. The delegation led by Arthur A. Klein, MD, President of the Mount Sinai Health Network and Szabi Dorotovics, President of Mount Sinai International.
The first stop was at Polaris Recovery Hospital owned by Tudor and Ioan Socea, a father and son team. Polaris is a medical facility specialized in medical recovery and soon to open oncology department. It is a state-of the art facility that caters to patients with special needs, physical therapy and recovery. During the visit MSI and RABC executives met with a host of Cluj dignitaries including Stefan Gadola, developer and Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan to Cluj-Napoca met with the US and RABC leaders.
Another very important meeting took place at the Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca where the delegation was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Anca Buzoianu, Dean of School, by Prof. Dr. Sorin Man, vice-dean and entire leadership team. The parties agreed to sign a protocol for exchange academic programs and offer teaching support for the University students and more.
In Bucharest team Mount Sinai International met with Robert & Georgeta Serban, owners of Gral Medical Hospital specialized oncology and for those suffering from and renal dresses. Clinical research was a priority and the main topic as well as improving the quality of care and the equipment at Gral.
The meeting with former Minister of Health and President of Fundeni Cancer Clinic Nicolae Banicioiu and his group revolved around the developing of a new private oncology hospital in Bucharest.
At the Titu Maiorescu University Medical School MSI leaders met with Prof. Dr. Smaranda Angheni, Conf. Univ. Gabriel Ispas and other members of the board. The Romanian trip included several meetings with Dominic Bruynseels the President of FirstBank, the first and only US Bank in Romania. The financial institution pledged its support in MSI efforts to establish a foothold in the world of medicine in Romania with regards to funding local projects in the healthcare business. At Neolife Hospital the MSI delegation met with Mr. Iasmail Dernek, Vice President, Healthcare Division of Boslu Holdings Turkey and with Dr. Cristina Berteanu , Medical Director and oncology specialist. Bestinevst Healthcare Romania II will take place between May 7–8 in Bucharest at the Radisson Hotel.
