Supporting President Mike Turner
The Romanian-American Business Council is delighted to host a new fundraising event at the end of November for the Honorable Mike Turner, Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) since 2023. Mr. Turner is also the co-chair of the Romanian Caucus in the House of Representatives.
Congressman Turner (R-OH) is a lifelong resident of southwest Ohio. His father worked for over 40 years in Dayton’s manufacturing industry, and his mother was an elementary school teacher in the Huber Heights School District. Congressman Turner is the proud father of two daughters, Jessica and Carolyn Turner, who live in Dayton.
Mr. Turner is the first elected official from Dayton to hold a leadership position on a national security committee in the U.S. House of Representatives. HPSCI is responsible for overseeing the nation’s 17 intelligence agencies. From this position, Turner has expanded intelligence operations at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, securing $182 million in federal funding for the construction of a new National Air and Space Intelligence Center, the Air Force’s primary source for analyzing foreign air and space threats.
Most recently, Congressman Turner was selected to serve on the Committee on Oversight and Accountability. This committee works to ensure the efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability of the federal government and all its agencies.
In January 2011, Turner was appointed Chairman of the U.S. Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the inter-parliamentary organization of lawmakers from NATO member countries. In December 2014, Turner was elected President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Assembly’s Defense and Security Committee. Additionally, since 2007, he has served as Co-Chair of the Romanian Caucus in the House of Representatives.
President Turner has been a strong supporter of the Romanian-American Business Council (RABC) since its founding in March 2015.
