Yanni Deconescu is founder and president of ESCU Consulting, a boutique consulting firm that provides expertise in the areas of global career and workforce development, human resources, as well as strategic business solutions for startups and established firms, both nationally and internationally.

Yanni Deconescu brings a wealth of diverse professional experience in both profit and non-profit sectors in the United States, Romania, United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Turkey and Brazil. Currently, Mr. Deconescu serves as the Manager of Curriculum Design & Teacher Development for Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow, a non-profit agency that provides a wide range of academic reinforcement, job training programming and support services to disadvantaged youth and adults throughout New York City. In this role, Mr. Deconescu is responsible for working with all of OBT's instructors and program directors to provide support on curriculum design, and to ensure that the agency's trainings are current and relevant in today's economy. He also serves as an in-house mentor and support professional who works individually with OBT's teachers on their professional development. Prior to OBT, he managed GOLES workforce and business development program, focusing on the economic development and revitalization of New York City's Lower East Side community. He also held various retail executive roles in high-volume specialty and luxury department stores including Bloomingdale's 59th Street and Banana Republic in New York City.

Mr. Deconescu is credentialed as a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) by the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE) – an affiliate of the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC); he graduated with a Master's Degree in Industrial & Labor Relations from Cornell University, and holds a B.S. in Business Management & Economics from SUNY Empire State College. A licensed administrator of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)'s career exploration and surveys, Mr. Deconescu is a professional member of the National Career Development Association (NCDA), the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) – the sole U.S. representative to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Mr. Deconescu sits on several boards, including the National Program Advisory Committee of Independence University.
