Marian Murgulet, veteran IT Expert and a senior government official, joins the Board of RABC
The Board of Directors of the Romanian American Business Council was delighted to unanimously approve and confirm Mr. Marian Murgulet as the new RABC Board member and the RABC council IT expert.
Marian Murguleț is a Government Technology Executive with extensive experience in managing both business structures and complex IT projects in international driven environments.
Murguleț was appointed in July 2019 as Secretary of State for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer of the Romanian Government, with the objective to provide strategic and tactical leadership in harnessing technologies to deliver value-added services in the public sector. He is responsible for leading, driving and executing the overall Romania’s digitalization plan in partnership with central agencies’ senior management, in order to understand their issues, help promote / influence directions and facilitate synergies.
Previously, he worked for more than 10 years for well-known Technology companies with keen interest in developing expansive business strategies abroad (Middle East, Turkey, Eastern and Central Europe). Prior to technology focus, he was a former diplomat within the Romanian Government (he was posted in Sweden for 5 years), with responsibilities in developing, implementing and coordinating international policies and programs and also providing advice in foreign affairs related issues.
He holds a BA in Business, an MA in International Currencies and Fiscal Mechanisms and an MA in Human Resources Management (Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest) and also an MA in Communication and Public Relations (University of Bucharest).
