Ms. Voicu- Marinescu started her legal carrier almost 25 years ago, in Romania where she worked as an Assistant District Attorney for the City of Constanta, Romania, the second largest city in the country and later become the youngest District Attorney in the country. As a district attorney she partnered with the District Attorney’s office from Louisville Kentucky to raise awareness about domestic violence, educate the public and the law enforcement in Romania.
Before becoming a partner of Voicu & Nica P.C., Ms. Voicu -Marinescu gain her expertise in real estate field as a title officer for a Title insurance company and later for a national, full service underwriting company. She also worked for a general practice attorney where she gained experience in family law and immigration. Since 2006 she successfully managed her own solo practitioner office with a broad range of services from real estate to wills, trust and estates, immigration and family law. Her office has also successfully represented clients from Romania on a diversity of legal issues in the United States Courts.
Ms. Voicu-Marinescu dedicated over 200 hours of volunteer work with the local bar association and the Family Court in Queens County and in 2012 she was awarded with an Excellence Award for her dedication and in 2017, Ms Voicu-Marinescu was selected as a Super Lawyers - Rising Star. In 2015 she was also admitted in the Guardian Fiduciary Program supervised by New York Court System.
As member of the Romanian-American Community since 2001, she founded the Romanian Community Center to provide community services to the Romanian community and promote Romanian cultural and historical values. Her firm provides pro bono (free) legal services to select individuals in need of counsel.
Ms. Voicu-Marinescu completed her legal education in the United States, at Hofstra University, School of Law and also has a law degree from University of Bucharest, Romania. She is an attorney admitted in New York State, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. She is a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, Queens County Lawyers Association, American Immigration Lawyer Association and since 2015 she is acting as a court appointed court evaluator/guardian for persons in needs for New York State Courts, Guardian and Fiduciary program.
